When something goes wrong¶

If your connection to the circle is struggling, a banner appears telling you so, and it tells you when things recover. It is about your connection, not anyone else's — other people may be having a perfectly good time.

If the connection cannot be repaired on its own, the banner offers you a reconnect. Nothing reconnects behind your back.

Someone's video has frozen¶

If a person's picture stops moving and shows a spinner, their last frame is being held while the connection to them is repaired. This is better than blanking them out — you can still see who is there.

If it does not come back on its own, that person is usually best off reloading their own page; there is nothing you can do from your side.

Someone is missing¶

Remember that people appear only once their video does — see What you are looking at. Someone who has just joined may take a moment.

Someone who lost their camera entirely is removed from the circle and sent back to the entry screen, so if a person vanishes, that is the likely reason.

You have been returned to the entry screen¶

Two things do this:

Your camera became unavailable — revoked, unplugged, or claimed by another app. The entry screen explains it and will not let you back in until a camera is available. See Sound and camera.
You chose Settings from the menu, which reloads the page.

In both cases the circle carries on without you and you can rejoin from the same link.

You cannot get in at all¶

What you see	What it means
An error about the room key	The link is wrong, incomplete, or no longer valid. Ask your host for a fresh one.
A login screen	The link had no key and you are not signed in as a host.
"We can't find a camera"	Another app has your camera, or none is attached. See Joining a circle.
A message about the room being open elsewhere	The same browser already has this circle open in another tab. Close it.

The circle ended¶

If the host ends the circle, everyone leaves at once. You will either be sent to a page the host chose, or shown a goodbye screen.
