Creating a room

A room is a permanent place, not a scheduled meeting. You make it once and reuse the same link every time you gather.

Go to Rooms in the admin area and choose Add room.

The settings

Setting What it does
Room name Becomes part of the URL, so choose it carefully — letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores only.
Room description A private note to yourself about what this room is for. Participants never see it.
Host Who owns the room. Admins can assign this to another host; as a host you are the default.
Speaker mode Which of the three layouts the circle uses.
Goodbye URL Where people are sent when you end the circle. Optional.
Scene The background and centre media. See Choosing a scene.

Speaker mode

Three options, described in full from the participant's side in Speaking and the centre:

  • Speaker stays centered — the speaker moves to the middle for everyone, themselves included.
  • Speaker centers with talking stick — everyone else sees the speaker in the middle; the speaker sees the centre media instead of their own face.
  • Speaker stays in place — the speaker's own circle grows where it is, and the centre keeps showing the scene.

If you are unsure, centers with talking stick is the gentlest for the person speaking: they look at the room rather than at themselves.

The goodbye URL

When you end a circle, everyone is redirected here — a feedback form, a follow-up page, wherever makes sense. It must be a full http(s) address. Leave it blank and people see the default goodbye screen instead.

Your admin may have set a site-wide default that is filled in for you; you can replace it per room.

Renaming a room

Renaming changes the URL, which invalidates the link everyone already has. Send out the new one.

Deleting a room

Deleting removes the room from the list. Historical usage records are kept, so your reporting stays accurate.
