Running a round

A round gives everyone in the circle one turn, in order, instead of the first-come queue of normal conversation. Use it for check-ins, closings, or any moment where you want every voice once and no scramble.

What a round feels like from the inside is Rounds. This page is the controls.

Starting one

Open the room menu, find Round Mode, choose a length, and start. Only hosts see this.

Everyone present at that moment is placed in one queue, oldest joiner first, and the first person takes the centre. There is no opting in — a round includes the whole room.

Choosing a length

Option Per-turn limit
7 seconds — a lightning round for one word or one breath each
30s 30 seconds
1m 1 minute
2m 2 minutes
5m 5 minutes
No limit — each turn runs until that person ends it

The limit applies per turn, not to the round overall. With a limit, the speaker sees a countdown around their circle; without one, the round lasts as long as it lasts.

Pick shorter than feels right. Seven seconds each is a real format, and a five-minute limit across twelve people is an hour.

While it runs

The round advances by itself: each speaker ends their turn, or their time expires, and the next person takes the centre. You do not drive it.

Someone dropping out does not stall it — the round moves on. People who leave the queue are simply skipped.

Ending it

A round ends on its own when the last person has spoken, and the room returns to normal conversation.

To stop early, use the same Round Mode control to abort. That empties the queue and returns everyone to normal immediately. People who have not spoken do not get their turn, so say something before you do it.
